Oncor's 2007 Report on Energy Efficiency Progress

Oncor reported energy efficiency program results for 2007 to the Public Utility Commission of Texas on Thursday, May 1, citing an overall reduction in peak demand of 89,233 kilowatts and a total energy savings of 216,371,490 kilowatt hours. The peak demand reduction represented a slight decrease from 92,000 kilowatts reported in 2006. Energy savings overall increased in 2007, up from a total of 159,472,243 kilowatt hours in 2006. Put in perspective, last year’s total energy savings could run almost 13,000 homes in the Oncor service area for one year. “I’m pleased at the performance of new pilot programs targeting schools and municipal buildings, Texas Schools Conserving Resources (SCORE) and CitySmart , that contributed to the success of the commercial area of our outreach, as well as the continued exemplary performance of our residential and small commercial programs,” said Mike Stockard , Oncor director of energy efficiency programs. “Oncor is just getting started.
